My Phone is Born Again Android

So I am approaching the 2 year mark for having owned a Samsung Galaxy S (A year and a half for the one in my hands as the original died by firmware upgrade from Samsung and was replaced 100% in Dec 2010).  I am very excited for the new Galaxy S III but not too excited abot forking over a pile of money to Bell Mobility if they do not believe I deserve an upgrade at the 2 year mark (Canadians are the only ones in the world stuck with 3 year contracts and unknown and always changing hardware upgrade dates)

That being said, I felt I deserved some kind of treat after all this time and since it was clear that Samsung Canada/Bell was not going to deliver any further updates or improvements for the SGS.  Enter CyanogenMod…

Yet Another FAIL From The Old Media

What is the point of this???  You can ONLY get the HBO GO app if you already subscribe to HBO via a cable or sat service.  And this is supposed to compete with Netflix???  Do these people not get it???

As a cord cutter, the first thing I did when Netflix announced they were coming to Canada was to watch with such baited breath that I am pretty sure I was the very first person in Canada to sign up, if not VERY close to the top.  The LAST thing on my mind was paying for a service again.

I am not quick at all to trust corporations to do anything but protect their bottom line but Apple has a LONG proven track record of fleecing their customer at every turn and of lies at worst and disingenuousness at best.  Things like selling the majority of their wares at up to 4 times the cost of manufacture, false advertising, fear mongering and any number of other things.
