It has been a long while since I chimed off in here but this time it is a great subject!!!

SageTV has just launched a new HD extender for their sectacular new version of SageTV.  Sage has had SageTV Version 7 out in Beta for several months now and it is coming along quite nice.  This somewhat unexpected arrival to the party of the new HD300 extender is just the icing on the cake.  It was always assumed that they would come out with another version but when was the question.  Makes sense to launch it at the same time they are polishing off the beta status of SageTV 7.

Well Terabyte sized drives have been around for a while so that is not all that impressive but what IS impressive is that today, I lost control because of the price drops.

NCIX has their 2 TB Western Digital Green (EADS series) drives on for ONLY $125.99!!!  So I bought one.  At these prices, everyone should get one and there should be no excuses to back up all your PCs!!!

So persistence and an unintended win on EBay and now I have my experiment with the iFlash all working!!!

What I ended up having to do was replace the logic board and the little IDE drive cable.  I got the logic board for $40 and the cable for $5 so all in all, not a bad experiment.  I have a Sandisk 4 GB CF card in there now but am looking at a 16 GB Kingston card.

I highly recommend this as a fix for your 5/5.5/6G iPod as it makes it lighter, faster and better on batteries…
