New LCD Picture Frames
Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 8:20PM Engadget and GeekBrief are reporting on new picture frames from a company called Ceiva.
The nicest thing about them is that the allow for basically every kind of connectivity for picture display that is out there. My number one recommendation on digital picture frames is that it be as flexible as possible. Even more importantly, wifi is a must as it is too much of a pain to have to manually shuttle pictures back and forth to the frame or worse, have to drag the frame to the computer to upload new images to it.
One neat feature that Ceiva adds as an option is to have what they call PicturePlan. It allows you to, for instance, buy a picture frame for a loved one that lives far away and then share pictures directly to their picture frame. The only downside is that it is a pay for service after the first 3 month from purchase. The price is $99 per year or $249 for 3 years.
Of course it is all peanuts compared to my dream picture frame.
