In a bizzare twist of disbelief, they have asked me to measure the screen protector they sent and my phone.  I have snapped at them in e-mail as that is a stupid question to ask.

I have the HTC Touch.  They sent the screen guard for the HTC Touch DIAMOND.  These two phones are ridiculously different in overall shape and design.

This does not bode well…
