SageTV Releases 6.5

SageTV has released the latest update to their excellent product. It is now version 6.5.9.

The largest improvements that I have seen so far are the codecs being improved so that now all of the Quicktime videos from the Revision3 site all render properly when played or when fast forwarded. Previously, there was a large amount of artifacting.

Some of the major changes for V6.5 are:

  • Full support for the HD200 as a media extender
  • Optimized bandwidth usage in the Placeshifter
  • Beta support for Hauppauge HD-PVR on the Mac
  • EVR (Enhanced Video Renderer) support on Windows
  • Optimized HDHomeRun network usage on all platforms
  • Support for HD YouTube videos
  • Various bug fixes and performance enhancements

More information is available at the SageTV forums.
