Why the Internet (And tech) ROCKS...

I watched the video of Susan Boyle yesterday in the afternoon and then read what is already up on her Wikipedia entry.  Google shows over 3 million hits for “Susan Boyle” Britains.  Going back and totalling up her YouTube views on the first page of hits for her name when sorted by most views puts her total as of 12:30am GMT, 04/17/2009 at in excess of 20,000,000.  All this and the performance was only on the air On April 11th.  A measly 5 days now!!!

Now why do I mention all of this?  Well, all of this exposure in such a rapid fashion reminded me of this gem:  Everything is amazing and nobody is happy

Seriously?  Have we ever REALLY stopped to think about how freaking amazing the internet is?  Only 20 years ago, this would take weeks or months to get around and in all reality, would likely never get around the world at all!!!

My smartphone was in my hand the other day after watching the everything is amazing clip and it smacked me right upside the head…

We are increasingly wandering about with just an unimaginable amount of technology at our disposal.  GPS, Full satellite maps, internet access, e-mail, twitter, Facebook, music and videos.  All in one little pocket sized phone.  I can never be lost or out of contact with the world unless I am literally in the middle of nowhere.

It all simply rocks!!!
