3D Movies

My wife and I went to the new ‘Alice in Wonderland’ on opening night.  I have now seen more than a dozen movies in 3D since spring last year.  I have also bought most of them on DVD and watched them in 2D.  I can now say with great confidence that I am pretty much tired of 3D.

Right out of the gate, the biggest issue is that the glasses reduce the brightness of the images.  After that, the next biggest thing is that the glasses from RealD3D do not fit properly over prescription glasses.  And on from that, I find that it really add so little to the movie and that in most cases, there is very nearly nothing lost if you only watch it in 2D.

Hollywood, leave the gimics to the amusement parks and put the effort into making better movies instead of gimics.

P.S.  —  Alice was actually a good watch.  Much better than Avatar.
